Blue4U is build around the singer Beate Kynast and the Guitar player Axel Fidelak. The relaxed and moving Jazz of Blue4U includes influences of Pop, Latin, reggae and many more with elegant performance and excellent sound. The sextett includes top musicians of the Hamburg Jazz Szene.

Boriana Dimitrova Quartett

With her own jazz compositions, Boriana Dimitrova is trying to find novel ways of merging different jazz styles like Swing and Bossa Nova with elements from the musical traditions of her home country of Bulgaria. Her compositions are telling stories in musical pictures that are abundant with energy and emotion.

Coco Zhao meets Le Spin Ovale

“Hamburg meets Nu Shanghai” is a project by the band “Le Spin Ovale” from Hamburg and the Shanghai no.1 jazz singer, Coco Zhao. Their music is a combination of Coco Zhao’s traditional Shanghai sound mixed with the electronic sounds of “Le Spin Ovale”.

Eddie Roberts & The Fire Eaters

When in touring and recording in Spain with his band The New Mastersounds, guitarist Eddie Roberts joined forces with The Sweet Vandals’ rhythm section, adding Chip Wickham’s (Nightmares On Wax, Rae & Christian, The Pharcyde) world-class flute and Taz Modi’s funktastic organ from Leeds/UK, and he sensed that this could be the beginning of something special. „Burn!“ is the proof that his feelings were true. The Fire Eaters, as the combo was called, recorded the album produced by Eddie Roberts himself in 2010, completed 12 tracks including a good number of originals as well as their versions of classic acid jazz & soul tunes like „I Believe In Miracles“, the „Lope Song“ or „Latona“, travelling way back to the times when jazz had soul and there was freedom in the rhythm.

Eisenrot

Eisenrot is a sextett, but when you take into account the instrumentation (two trombones, two doublebasses and two drumsets), it’s far more than that. Depending on the perspective, this band consists of two trios, three duos and countless other constellations. Even masters like John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman were aware of the limitations which restricted their expressive spectra beside all virtuosity. Both used to double single positons or even the complete ensemble.

Fischer Spangenberg Quartet

In the music of the Fischer Spangenberg Quartet the detail is as important as the musical form. The focus is on the compo-sition and the improvised solos are part of the musical development. The themes follow a detailed dramaturgy and make use of modern jazz language and rock/pop elements. Every bar is part of a composition and every composition is part of a bandsound.

Fischer Spangenberg Quartet LIVE in Paris:
The quartet is playing a concert in the Goethe Institut in Paris on May 5th.

Fischer Spangenberg Quartet at ECHO Jazz 2011:
Heiko Fischer wins “Echo Jazz 2011″ award in the category “best guitar player (domestic).” The conferment of the award will take place in the “Transparent Factory” of Volkswagen in Dresden on June 16th.
